DAV College organized an Extension Lecture on “Dynamics of Punjab Politics”

Amritsar, April 12 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Department of Political Science, DAV College organized an Extension Lecture on “Dynamics of Punjab Politics” on April 12, 2017. Prof (Dr.) Jagrup Singh Sekhon Head Department of Political Science GNDU was the key speaker on this Occasion. Vice Principal Dr Vishav Bandhu along with Prof Surinder Kumar, Head Department of Political Science welcomed the Chief Guest during the event.  Vice Principal Dr. Vishav Bandhu congratulated faculty members of Political science department for organizing such intellectual lectures for students. He said that it’s very important to understand the present political scenario of the country in order to look for better perspectives when it comes to decision making during elections. While speaking on occasion, Prof (Dr.) Jagrup Singh Sekhon talked about emerging trends in Punjab Politics and Democracy. He also discussed about Punjab Education system and stressed on the fact that our Punjab education system should be strong enough to offer better employment opportunities to our youth. Further, he also talked about the changing political scenario of Punjab since the time of British Empire to partition of 1947 till today. Prof Surinder Kumar also congratulated his staff members for the success of the event and he also focused on the need of creating real democratic country as in a free democracy the people have the opportunity to become informed and enlightened finally influencing decision making process. Prof MR Chopra and Prof RK Kaushal, Ex Heads of Political Science Department, Dr AK Khosla, Dr. KS Arya, Prof Vipan Kumar, Prof Bupinder Singh Bal, Dr. Gaurav Sharma and Prof  Rajwinder Kaur and other staff members were also present during the event.
