NRIs Alumni of Khalsa College Honoured by Alma Mater

Alumni Association Announced with Dr. D.S Chhina as its Founder President

 Amritsar, April 21 (Punjab Post Bureau) – PPN2104201721As part of ongoing program to make connect with its old students, the Khalsa College management today honoured its six top NRIs Alumni, appreciating their services to the society in the foreign lands. At this occasion Khalsa College Global Alumni Association (KCGAA) was also announced and Dr.Davinder Singh Chhina was declared its founder President to organize old students settled all over the world.

            Khalsa College Governing Council honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina and Principal Dr. Mehal Singh gave away the token of honour to ex students Joga Singh Sandhu, Jasmail Singh Jass Aulakh, Harman Pannu and Paramjit Singh Sandhu who were accorded warm welcome on reaching their alma mater. They were given the citations, college photograph and a set of books each. Chhina said that the college was proud of its rich alumni spread across the world and it is convincing to hear the stories of the success of erstwhile students of the historic College.

            Dr. Mehal Singh said that they were happy to coordinate with Alumni who have emotional attachment with the College and he thanked them for starting scholarship programs. Dr Chhina who is a Director of Punjab Cultural Promotion Council Director and KCGC member thanked the college management and Principal for the announcement of Global Alumni Association and promised to work for the inter-cultural exchange programs and world Sikh heritage.

            He said he had already been approached by the old students of the historic college for the coordination and cooperation on diverse issues before the College and made it clear that the College’s heritage building is protected by the management while the Khalsa University had been set up separately away from the college. He appreciated the management’s decision to set up the University which he said was engaged in research and higher education.
