Amritsar, April 25 (Punjab Post Bureau) –
Government Medical College conducted a seminar to spread awareness about ‘Depression and how to deal with it ‘at DAV Public School Lawrence Road, for the students of IX and X . It is an initiative spanning all across the country under the umbrella of WHO affiliated organisations.
A team of eight medical students (under the guidance of Dr. Tejbir) from Government Medical College showcased a short documentary film and power point presentation on the theme depression that how this disease affects the lives of the people, how it can be treated and what are its symptoms. It was a very enriching, interactive and informative session. They interacted with the students and distributed a questionnaire which had to be filled before the seminar as well as after the seminar to know about the views of the students.
Regional Director Punjab Zone A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar appreciated the efforts of the school for organising such seminars which will help the students to handle ups and downs of life. They advised the students to live their lives to the fullest. Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school thanked the guests and addressed the students that mental fitness is as important as physical fitness and shouldn’t be neglected and one should always have a positive outlook.
