Amritsar 29 April (Punjab Post Bureau) – Member of Parliament Gurjeet Singh Aujla and member of Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs today began the study tour along with the committee at Leh. The committee today visited Post Office, Passport Seva Kendra at Leh followed by discussions with the representatives of MEA, Regional Passport Office (Srinagar), and Police, Postal, CPWD authorities and concerned agencies on the implementation of Passport Seva Project. In second session discussion with the representatives of Ministry of Defense on the subject ‘Indo-Pak relations’ concerned with the prevailing situation on the Line of Control (LoC) were conducted. Aujla said that on 30th April the committee will visit Regional Passport Office/Passport Seva Kendra, Amritsar followed by discussion with the representatives of MEA, Regional Passport Office, Police, Postal, CPWD authorities and concerned agencies on the implementation of Passport Seva Project.In the noon committee will visit Integrated Check Post (ICP), Attari followed by discussions with the representatives of Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Department of Commerce) and MEA on the subject ‘Indo-Pak relations’ particularly India-Pakistan trade relations. The committee will also visit Wagah Border in the evening followed by discussions with the representatives of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Border Security Force (BSF) on the subject ‘Indo-Pak relations’ especially on the aspects related to Border Management along the India-Pakistan border. From 3rd to 5th of May the committee will visit Mumbai and Diu. Diu program includes visit to the Fishermen’s jetty followed by discussion with the representatives of the Ministry of Defense, MEA, and Ministry of Home Affairs, Coast Guard and Local Fishermen Associations / families on the subject ‘Indo-Pak relations’ in connection with the Maritime boundary related issues of the Fishermen in the region.
