Ambassador of South Korea to India H.E Hyun Cho visited GNDU

PPN0505201712Amritsar, May 5 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Ambassador of South Korea to India H.E. Hyun Cho visited Guru Nanak Dev University here today and delivered a special lecture on ‘Rising India-Korea’s Contribution’ in the Conference Hall of Guru Nanak Bhawan of the University. A large panel of eminent policy experts and University faculty, students and administration interacted with the visiting diplomat.In his lecture, Mr. Cho Hyun said that the relationship between Korea and India has progressed steadily and satisfactorily, with economy taking the centre stage in bilateral relationship. However, the present framework of economic engagement needs a review, especially keeping in view the fact to promote mutual trade and various exchange programe between both countries. His Excellency said that in many ways India resembled Korea. The Indian economy is being largely fuelled by the rising aspirations of the ordinary people, especially the youth.Endorsing the policy reforms initiated by the present NDA government, he said India would emerge as the big power. He said that it is an opportune time for both countries to mutualy cooperate potential sector of industry, education, entertainment, culture and others. He said that the need of hour is to join hands together for the benefit of both the countries. A lively interaction followed the talk by the South Korean Ambassador. Earlier, Prof. N.S. Tung, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Karanjit Singh Kahlon, Registrar and other officals of the University gave the floral welcome to His Excellency and team. Prof. Avinash Kaur Nagpal, Forign Student’s Advisor introduced the guest speaker and Prof. T.S. Banipal, Director Research presented vote of thanks. The Ambassador appriciated the green clean campus and educational friendly atmosphere of the University.
