Amritsar, May 18 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Guru Nanak Dev University expressed deep sorrow over the sad demise of Dr. Gulzar Singh Kang,an eminent scholar of Sikh studies and Director of Centre on Studies in Sri Guru Granth Sahib of the University. Dr. Kang breathed his last following cardiac arrest in a private hospital in Jalandhar. In his message, Vice-Chancellor, Sh. Anurag Verma, IAS while paying condolences to the departed soul said that the death of Prof. Kang is an irreparabe loss for the University. Prof. Subodh Kumar, Dean, Academic Affairs read the condolence message. Prof. K.S. Kahlon, Registrar; Prof. Adarsh Pal Vig, Vice-President of Teachers’ Association and other teaching and non-teaching officials were also present to pay condolences Dr. Kang joined the University in 2011. He has published 18 books and contributed more than 50 papers published in reputed journals and books. Among his earlier works “Shabad Anubhav te Darshan” is a scholarly work in the field of Sikh Philosophy. Recently he has published expositions of Japuji Sahib under the title of “Japuji Sahib:Bahupakhhi Viakhia”.
