Chhina Denounces Capt. Govt’s Budget as `Directionless’

Rajinder Mohan Singh ChhinaAmritsar, June 20 (Punjab Post Bureau) –  Bhartiya Janta Party Punjab executive member Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina today denounced the first budget of Captain Amarinder Singh as `directionless’. He said the budget failed to provide road- map for the development as the key sectors including the agriculture and industry had been ignored to provide impetus for growth. In a press statement, China said that the Congress led by Captain had made lucrative promises to the people during the elections but have failed to be up to their expectations. The writing off the farmers’ loans is nothing but a mockery as only up to Rs.2 lakhs crops loans are waived off and rest the farmers are left in quandary. “The farmers are feeling cheated as the promise was to waive the all loans and not just crop loans that too up to Rs. 2 lakhs’’, said he.  He said there is no major headway made in the infrastructure development, education sector as these two sectors needed the higher allocations which the Captain government failed to make. “The growth which has virtually become standstill will be further hampered by failure of this budget to provide impetus to the key sectors and employment growth’’, said Chhina. He said the poor section of the society has been ignored and no headway has been made to further give push to the various development and flagship schemes of the Centre government in the state. “ The popular schemes of the Centre including Jan-Dhan, Swachh Bharat, Sarv Sikhya Abhiyan and Beti Padao, Beti Bachao could have been further taken up for the downtrodden and neglected section of the society through special provisions in the budget’’, said he.
