CI Amritsar apprehended one smuggler – recovered four packets of heroin

PPN2803201803Amritsar, Mar. 28 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The continuous efforts of Counter Intelligence Amritsar to curb drug smuggling bore fruit when the team of  CI Amritsar apprehended one wanted smuggler and during the reman, recovered consignment of heroin on his disclosure. A secret information was received on 26.03.2018 that Hardev Singh @ Rambo s/o Makhan Singh r/o Sheron PS Sirhali Distt. Tarn Taran, who is wanted in case FIR No. 26 dated 06.11.2017, u/s 21, 29/61/85, PS SSOC Amritsar,  is staying in hotel President New Court Jalandhar to avert his arrest. Acting on this information and on the directions of Amarjit Singh Bajwa, PPS AIG CI Amritsar, the team of CI Amritsar headed by Insp. Inderdeep Singh Sandhu, immediately moved to Jalandhar and apprehended wanted Smuggler Hardev Singh @ Rambo from hotel President new Court Jalandhar. During the police remand Hardev Singh @ Rambo revealed that he has dumped four packets of heroin near railway crossing on Amritsar-Vallah road. He further revealed that he had received this consignment from one Shampy r/o Jammu.Since it was a fresh consignment which was delievered from Jammu area, a case FIR no. 07 dated 27.03.2018 u/s 21, 29/61/85 NDPS Act, PS SSOC was got registered in this regard.Acting on the disclosure by Hardev Singfh @ Rambo, the team of CI Amritsar went to the said place and unearthed four kilograms of heroin kept in a black polythene bag.The accused was produced in court and two days police remand has been obtained. Further investigation is being conducted to get more information about the smuggling network and Shampy r/o Jammu who delivered the recovered consignment to accused Hardev Singh @ Rambo.
