Jalandhar, Aug. 14 (Punjab Post Bureau) – As prelude to Independence Day celebrations, a Band and Military Equipment Display was organised at Katoch Stadium on Aug. 13-14 under the aegis of Vajra Corps. The event was organised as part of “Know Our Forces” initiative with an aim to increase awareness about the Armed Forces, motivating the youth of the country and deepen the sense of patriotism.
The event was inaugurated by Lieutenant General Dushyant Singh Corps Commander Vajra Corps. Addressing the gathering he reiterated that Indian Army has made noteworthy contribution in Nation building, apart from delivering decisive blows to the enemy wherever required. He called upon the youth of the country to join the Indian Army and serve the Nation.
The event was attended by large number of students and NCC cadets from Army Public School, Kendriya Vidyalaya and other prominent schools of Jalandhar City. The might of the Indian Army was showcased in the Equipment Display which included long range Artillery Guns, state of the art Infantry weapons, modern Surveillance equipment, Hi Tech Communication equipment, specialist vehicles and many more lethal and advanced weapons.
