Amritsar, September 20 (Punjab Post Bureau) – A cultural programe ‘Cultrual Diversity through Excellence in Music and Dance’ was organized in Dasmesh Auditorium of the Guru Nanak Dev University. This colourfull event was organized by University in association with Guru Nanak College, Dhanbad and Jharkhand. A large number of students, presented colourfull items included tribal folk dance & music of Jharkhand, Bhojpuri folk music and dance and Punjabi folk music and dance on this occasion.
Prof. Preet Mohinder Singh Bedi Dean Student’s Welfare presided over. Dr. Amandeep Singh, Incharge Youth Welfare welcomed the participants and guest. Dr. D.S Grewal Secretary, Guru Nanak College Dhanbad introduced the theme of the event. Student-artists of the college presented Johar, Karma and Sarul dances, Panya ke Jahaj se, Kajari, Sohney Deshan, Sammi, Chhalla, Multan, Mirza, Sat Pind, Tere Ni Karan, Sanu te aisa Mahi, Heer, Tappe and Jago on this occasion. Dr. Sanjay Prashad from the college was also present.
Prof. Bedi said the the beauty of India is unity in diversity. He said that this type of events needed to organize frequently to strengthen of unity of the nation. He also honored the guests and students with memento on behalf of the University.
