
Amritsar, May 29 (Punjab Post bureau) – DAV Public School, Lawrence Road organised English Declamation Competition on the Topic ‘Drugs – A Menace’ under the aegis of Sahodaya Schools Complex. As many as 13 Schools from Amritsar District participated in the competition. Honourable Mr. J.S. Walia, ADCP, Amritsar graced the occasion as the Chief Guest Dr. Jaswinder S. Gandhi Medical officer, and member International Society of Addiction and Mr.Surjit Sharma Deputy Chief warden , Civil Defence were the judges for the competition . Sh. Kulwinder Rai Incharge CPRC and Mr. Iqbal Singh Inspector Incharge CPRC were among the prominent guests present.
The Chief Guest and the judges were impressed by the performance of all the participants and said that it was hard for them to decide as all of them presented good oratory skills. The prizes announced as First position was grabled by Police DAV School, Second position went to Guru Harkrishan Sen. Sec School, G.T. Road, Amritsar and there was tie for the Third position between Delhi Public School, Asr and DAV Public School, Amritsar. The Consolation prizes went to Spring Dale School, Guru Nanak Dev Academy and DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar.
Regional Director Amritsar Zone Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra Principal BBK DAV College for Women and the Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar Principal DAV College, congratulated the participants for their brilliant performance and advised them to pursue their talent. Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school expressed her gratitude to the Chief Guest and the judges for motivating the students. She praised the participants for their hard work and advised them to give their best at all times.
