International Youth Day was celebrated at International Fateh Academy

Jandiala Guru, August 12 (Harinder Pal Singh, Varinder Singh) – The United Nation International Youth Day was celebrated at International Fateh Academy, Amritsar, on 12^th August under the theme of “Youth Civic Engagement”. A social campaign was organizednamed as “Share your opinion” where the youth of the academy was given a phrase “The world I want includes ______” to complete and share their opinion. The youth was addressed and questionedover the needs and wants of youth. The campaign proved to be successful and was a wonderful experience as there was a pool of ideas that turned up. Some of the ideas were Integrity, Voice, women empowerment, Food Security, Education and Respect for all.The agenda to celebrate IYD 2015 is for bringing youth issues to the attention of the international community and celebrating the potential of youth as partners in today’s global society. It has been rightly said that youth should contribute in the building and designing of their future. The campaign and the message from the youth was released in a form of a video which could be seen on social media under the hash tag #Youthday and #UN4youth which is the official twitter account for the UN Focal Point on Youth within the Division for Social Policy and Development, Department of Economic and Social Affairs.This was a promising attempt by International Fateh Academy to build better human beings that have the will power to change the world tomorrow.
