Excellent Performance of Students in DAV National Sports Cluster  

Amritsar, November 2 (Punjab Post Bureau)-  Students of  DAV Public School, Lawrence Road proved their mettle in DAV National Sports Cluster Level games held at DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar . The games were organised under the aegis of DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi from 21^st Oct to 26^th Oct 2016. A total of around 200 students from Amritsar district participated in the games. 6 games i.e. Badminton, Table Tennis, Chess, Cricket, Lawn Tennis, Gymnastics were held at DAV Public School. The school bagged Seven Winner’s Trophy (First) and 13 Runner’s Up Trohpy (Second) in different games. The detail is as follows : The school bagged winners trophy in Cricket (Boys), Lawn Tennis ( Boys & Girls ) , Gymnastics ( Boys) , Badminton ( Boys & Girls) and Swimming ( Girls) and Runner’s up trophy in  Basket Ball ( Boys & Girls) , Chess ( Boys & Girls) , Boxing (Boys) , Yoga (Girls) Table Tennis ( Boys & Girls) , Volley Ball ( Girls) , Judo ( Boys) , Swimming (Boys) and Skating ( Boys & Girls) . The trophies were given away to the winners by the Principal, Dr. Neera Sharma who applauded the efforts of all the participants. Regional Director , Punjab Zone – A , Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school, Dr. Rajesh Kumar , Principal  DAV College Amritsar congratulated the winners and advised all the participants to put in more efforts for better results next time.  Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school while encouraging the winners said that she was happy to see students participating and taking interest in sports. She added that sports build discipline and perseverance which shape the personality, making students ready to face challenges of future.
