Students Pays Rich Tributes to Lal Bahadur Shastri

Amritsar, Jan. 11 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Students of DAV Public School Lawrence Road paid rich tributes to the second Prime Minister of Independent India on his death anniversary.  Lal Bahadur Shastri was one of the most stellar leader, India has ever had. The students remembered the great leader for his farsightedness and many revolutionary decisions that led the country on the path of progress. In the special programme dedicated to him, the students read out memorable events from his life. He played a pivotal role in shaping India’s future and introduced the famous slogan ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’. He also promoted the White Revolution and integrated the idea of Green Revolution to make the country self – sufficient in milk and food grains respectively. The students recited many patriotic poems highlighting the contribution of freedom fighters in making the country independent. Regional Director Punjab Zone – A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar Principal DAV College Amritsar advised the students to take pride in their country and pledge to contribute for its progress. Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school while addressing the students on this occasion asked them to read about the great leaders like Lal Bahadur Shastri and take inspiration from their life.
