Narcotics Control Bureau Amritsar and Border Security Force recovered two Kgs. Heroin

Amritsar, Aug. 19 (Punjab Post Bureau) – 17 Bn BSF, Ramtirath, Amritsar (Pb) in connection with a joint operation of Narcotics Control Bureau Amritsar and Border Security Force Punjab on a secret information. This information was  shared with 17 Bn BSF, Ramtirath, Amritsar (Pb) by Sachin Gularya Superintendent NCB Amritsar regarding concealing of Heroin hidden in plastic Pipe near Sakki Nala and drug smugglers may try to smuggle to India. Taking pro-active action BSF and NCB carried out a joint search operation in the AOR of BOP-Forward Kakkar under the command of Swarup Saha 2 IC (Ops) 17 Bn BSF and supervision of R.C Sharma Commandant 17 Bn BSF Ram Tirath, where 01 Plastic Hollow Pipe (29 Feet 07 Inch) was recovered. On cut-opening the same total Two Kgs. of Heroin was recovered. A case under NDPS Act vide NCB Cr. No. 35/2018 dated 18.08.2018 has been registered. Further investigation to find out source of origin and final destination of the contraband is in progress.
