Amritsar, Dec. 6 (Manjit Kaur) – Chief Khalsa Diwan has a long history of 112 years to serve the every section of society and deeply concerned with the social and economic welfare of the needy ones. Chief Khalsa Diwan is always involved in the efforts to serve humanity through Old age homes , Orphanages , a number of Charitable hospitals and dispensaries running under the Chief Khalsa Diwan.
Under the leadership of President S. Charanjit Singh Chadha, Chief Khalsa Diwan has put one more step ahead with unique initiative to serve humanity through the inauguration of Sri Guru Har Rai Sahib Niwas Sarai today. Sh. Anil Joshi Cabinet Minister, Punjab inaugurated the Sarai and Deputy Commissioner Sh. Ravi Bhagat who also graced the occasion. This sarai is dedicated to the birth anniversary of the founder of Chief Khalsa Diwan Bhai Sahib Dr. Veer Singh Ji.
While admiring the valuable dedication of Chief Khalsa Diwan Management towards public. Sh. Anil Joshi appreciated the efforts of Chief Khalsa Diwan to take such initiative to serve humanity by establishing Sarai to keep in view of its urgent need in the Hospital.
President S. Charanjit Singh Chadha commented that the main objective of setting up of Sarai in the premises of Guru Nanak Dev Hospital is to offer lodging and catering facilities by Chief Khalsa Diwan at reasonable rates to the attendants of patients who are admitted in Guru Nanak Dev Hospital.. It houses well furnished spacious rooms including VIP rooms equipped with all required facilities, english bathrooms with modern sanitation system and proper airy hygienic kitchen . He also said that there is proper arrangement of lodging and catering for more than 100 persons at a time in the sarai. He assured to run the Sarai in a most technological method while providing all modern facilities to the needy.
Honorary Secretary S. Narinder Singh Khurana said that Everyday a number of patients visit this hospital, however only a few manage to get lodging facilities while most of the patients have to force to rest in open. Now Sri Guru Har Rai Sahib Niwas Sarai is ready to cater and serve the needs of attendants of the patients at a nominal rates inside the Hospital.
At this momentous occasion, Chief Khalsa Diwan honored Cabinet Minister Sh. Anil Joshi and Deputy Commissioner Sh. Ravi Bhagat along with other esteemed guests. Member Incharge of Sarai S. Harminder Singh and S. Manmohan Singh were also honored for their tireless efforts to contribute in establishment of Sarai. Resident President S. Nirmal Singh, Principal Medical College Dr. Santokh Singh, Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr. Singla, S. Sarabjit Singh, Engineer jaspal Singh, S. S.P. Singh Walia, S. J.P. Singh, S. Ajit Singh Basra, S. Ramneek Singh, Architect Jujbeer Singh walia, S. Niranjan Singh, S. Hakam Singh, Councilor Pappu Mahajan, SHO Gagandeep Singh, Rakesh Mintoo, Mr. Vishal were also present.
