“Managing growing computer data emerging as challenge’’

Amritsar, 24 January (Punjab Post Bureau)- “The management of growing computer data is emerging as a major challenge today and technicians must devise new technologies to deal with the problems. This was stated by Dr.Hardeep Singh, Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Guru Nanak Dev University while addressing a seminar on “Emerging Trends in Computing“ at Khalsa College today. The seminar was organized by PG Department of Computer Science and Applications of the College. College Principal Dr. Daljit Singh welcomed the expert and said the aim of organizing the lecture was to apprise the students and teachers about the latest in the computer technology. Dr.Hardeep said Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, Mobile Computing, Social networks and Cloud Computing were latest technologies. He said that these related technologies are emerging simultaneously. He said that data is growing rapidly and so the jobs of data analyst will be on top priority in near future. The students took part in the discussions that followed the lecture. Prof. Harbhajan Singh, Head of Department gave the vote of thanks. Other present included Prof. Kawaljit Kaur, Prof. Sukhwinder Kaur, Prof. Mani Arora, Prof. Rupinder Singh, Prof. Sukhbir Kaur, Prof. Sukhpuneet Kaur, Prof. Rajkaran Singh, Prof. Jagbir Singh, Prof. Navjeet Singh, Prof. Poonamjit Kaur.
