Army felicitates bravehearts “Jagruk Hindustani”

Lt. General KJ Singh honoured  Darshan Kumar gateman of Railways & Satpal

Pathankot, Aug 1 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Lieutenant General KJ Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command felicitated two bravehearts Shri Darshan Kumar, Gateman Special Carts of Indian Railways and Shri Satpal both residents of Dinanagar at a simple ceremony in Tiger Division Jammu, today. Shri Satpal was commended with the Army Commander’s Commendation Card also.

            On  July 27, 2015, during anti terrorist operations at Dinanagar, Gurdaspur, these two “JAGRUK HINDUSTANI” were instrumental in saving the lives of train passengers by detecting five planted IEDs on the railway track from Dinanagar to Pathankot. Had it not been for their swift alertness and sense of responsibility, the local passenger train would have crossed over the IEDs.
