National Lok Adalat on Bank Matters organised

Amritsar, Aug. 8 (Punjab Post Bureau) – In accordance with the instructions of National Legal Services Authority a National Lok Adalat held today under the active guidance of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Tirath Singh Thakur, Judge, Supreme Court of India-cum-Executive Chairman, National Legal Services Authority and Hon’ble Mr. Justice S.S Saron, Judge, Punjab & Haryana High Court-cum-Executive Chairman, Punjab Legal Services Authority, Chandigarh, a National Lok Adalat has been organized at District Headquarter Amritsar on Bank Matters today.

One bench was constituted which was presided over by Sh. Parminder Singh Rai, Addl. Chief Judicial Magistrate, Amritsar for holding this National Lok Adalat. The cases pertaining to the Bank matters were taken up for settlement in this National Lok Adalat with the mutual consent of the parties.             583 cases were taken up for decision in this National Lok Adalat by way of amicable settlement, out of which 145 cases were disposed of and an amount of Rs. 29522761/- has been recovered/awarded/settled by way of compensation etc.
