14 students of DAV Public School participated in Young Chef India School 2015

Amritsar,  Aug 10 (Punjab Post Bureau) –  14 students of DAV Public School, Lawrence Road participated in the prestigious Young Chef India School – 2015, a culinary competition held at IIHM, New Delhi. The competition was held in 3 stages. In the first preliminary round as many as 3000 students participated from Northern region. From the first round 200 students were selected for the regional round semi-finals which were conducted at IIHM, New Delhi on 8th Aug, 2015. 14 students of our school were among these 200 selected students who participated in the semi final round. It is a matter of great pride that our school was the only school to reach the semi finals from Punjab. From the second round i.e. the regional semi finals only 10 finalists were selected. Manavi Jain of Std. XII Arts made the school proud by being one among those 10 finalists. In the final round, the finalists were given a set of six ingredients and had the challenge to satisfy and win over the taste buds of celebrity chefs viz Chef Manish Malhotra and Chef Sabhya Sachi. Manavi Jain was highly applauded by the chefs for her creativity and presentation. She won the appreciation of both the chefs and had a great learning experience there.

Regional Director, Amritsar Zone Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra, Principal BBK DAV College For Women and the Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Principal DAV College applauded the efforts of the students and added that the students must follow their passion to excel in future. They blessed them for their future endeavours. Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school appreciated the students for their passion. She paid that technology is itself is a vast subject and not limited to home cooking. There is so much to do in it. She advised the students to use their creativity and try to be different in what they make and present.
