Amritsar, Nov. 5 (Punjab Post Bureau)- 23rd National Children Science Congress was organised by DSS, Amritsar under the aegis of Punjab State Science and Technology. This district level competition was held at SL Bhavans School . As many as 18 teams from the Amritsar district participated in the senior category. The school team, which comprised of Suryansh Saini, Sanyam , Vinayak , Shantanu and Mankirat from std 10,th bagged Second position. Mrs. Gurvinder pal kaur was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Lecturer Mrs. Bharti Sharma and Lecturer Mr. Amrit Singh were the judges for the competition. The judges praised the power point presentation and the project report prepared by the students on the theme ‘ Weather, Climate and Agriculture’.Applauding the in depth knowledge of the students, the judges were impressed by the ingenuity. The team received a cash prize of the Rs 750 and has been selected for the state level round to be held in December.
Regional Director, Amritsar Zone, Dr. (Mrs) Neelam Kamra, Principal, BBK DAV College for women and the Manager of the School, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Principal, DAV College, Hathi Gate congratulated the school team and the teachers for this brilliant achievement. They asked the students to be research oriented and work for the progress of the nation. Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school, applauded the efforts of the teachers and the teachers and the student. She said that it had become imperative to save environment and the impetus lies of the future generation. She added that it was important to note the changes in the Weather and Climate due to human interference and act and plan accordingly.
