Channi visits the victims of village Narli In Guru Nanak Dev Hospital Amritsar, Demands registration of case under IPC 307 against all the absconders

Amritsar/ Chandigarh, Jan 5 (Punjab Post Bureau)- The Home minister of Punjab, S Sukhbir Singh Badal, should tell the people of this nation as to why there was intelligence lapse on the part of Punjab police. Lashing out at the home minister, S Charanjit Singh Channi, Leader of opposition, today said that when there was a alert fifteen days back why didn’t the police take it seriously and took some concrete steps to prevent this kind of incident. When the SP who was abducted by the militants gave the senior officials of the Punjab police a warning and narrated the whole story, why was the Punjab police or its officers were not believing the incident, thus not taking it seriously and hence this major tragedy happened. This clearly shows two things one how much the Punjab police trusts its own officers that too on the rank of SP and second if they don’t trust these officers why are they posted in Gurdaspur, which is extra sensitive area. This clearly shows the lackluster attitude of the Punjab police for fighting against terrorism and clear Groupism in the force due to political inferences. The Home minister should reply on the preparedness of his force for this kind of combat operation in future. Channi also demanded that the compensation paid to the families of the security forces killed in Pathankot should be raised to atleast 20 lacs and atleast one government job should be given to the immediate dependent in the family.

S Charanjit Singh Channi today visited the Guru Nanak Dev Hospital in Amritsar where he visited the family of Village Narli victims of Tarn Taran District. He talked to the relatives of the injured Arsal Singh and ParamjeetKaur and directed the medical superintendent to immediately look into the case history and give proper medical treatment to the injured. Channi was accompanied by S Harjinder Singh Thekedar, S Sardul Singh Bandala and S Sukhwinder Singh Danny on his visit to hospital.

Channi demanded that Case under section 307IPC should be registered against the all absconders, the case under SC Act should be added in the FIR and all the accused should be arrested immediately. He accused that the goons of ruling party ShiromaniAkali Dal Badal are trying to influence the police and getting fake medical reports done so as to make the accused out of this case easily. This will not be allowed to happen. Channi said the congress would take up this case in vidhansabha as well as on the roads also, agitations will be done if the proper justice is not given to the family. He accused the ruling government for not protecting the rights of Dalits in the state thus everyday killing the poor people.
