“SAYONARA 2016” organized at CKDIMT

Amritsar, Apr. 21 (Manjit Kaur) – CKDIMT organized “SAYONARA 2016” to bid farewell to outgoing batches of Session 2016 of MBA, BBA, B.Com (Prof.), BCA and B.Sc (ATHM). The day was filled with memories and recounting interesting tales at the farewell party. Chief Guest S. Charanjit Singh Chadha (President Chief Khalsa Diwan Charitable Society) reached there to bestow good wishes and blessings to the students. It was a day of mixed emotions for all present in Sri Guru Arjan Dev Auditorium. where the celebrations commenced with the college shabad  followed by lightening of the lamp. The students presented cultural bonanza including Malwai Gidha, Western Dance, Modelling, Bhangra, Skit and Songs which was highly appreciated by the chief guest and the audience. Fashion show was the highlight of the  program in which Vikas John (B.Sc, ATHM) and Simarpreet Kaur (BCA, final) were respectively crowned as Mr. and Miss CKDIMT-2016 in Undergraduate Category. Likewise from MBA, Mandeep Singh and Manpreet Kaur won the title of Mr. and Miss CKDIMT-2016 respectively in Post-graduate Category. Moreover Gurpreet Kaur (MBA) as Miss Outstanding, Love Randhawa (BCA) as Mr. Outstanding, Mandeep Singh (BCA) as Mr. Handsome, and Manisha as Miss Charming added glamour to the party.

The Principal of the college Dr. H.S. Sandhu presented a welcome address and read out the college Annual Progress Report highlighting the academic and placement achievements of the students.  He said that this year 8 students were placed in the merit list by getting various top positions in the PTU University. He further said that CKDIMT is the only college in Amritsar which got highest number of Merit Positions this year.

Chief Guest of the day S. Charanjit Singh Chadha congratulated the students and advised students to empower themselves for all their future endeavours but not to compromise their values for success.  He said that the students should develop and enrich their skills so that they are most sought after in the job market rather than looking for favours. He also invited outgoing students to share their success stories in future so that Institute and students may feel proud for their past mutual associations.

Vote of thanks was purposed by Member Incharge Dr. Mrs. S.K. Mahal who also appreciated the students for their achievements at the university & college level.
