BBK DAV Player Wins A Silver Medal in National Hockey Championship

Amritsar, May 13 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Jasreet Kaur of BBK DAV College for Women represented Punjab Hockey team and won a Silver Medal in 6^th Senior Women National Hockey Championship held at Bengaluru (Karnataka) from 25^th April 2016 to 1^st May 2016. 16 teams of from different states participated in the championship. The Punjab Hockey team put up a splendid show by defeating Delhi, Indian SAI and Mumbai. In semi-finals, the team beat Orissa with a score of 4-0. Jasreet Kaur also participated in All India Inter- University Hockey Championship held at Lucknow and she was the captain of the team since then. Besides, she has a good record in academics too. Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia congratulated the young achiever and motivated her to perform better in future. She added that the college players have always made a mark in various championships; as a result, BBK DAV is a forerunner in sports. Mrs. Sweety Bala, Head, Department of Physical Education, along with other faculty members, felicitated the player on her achievement.
