Amritsar, 14 May (Punjab Post Burreau)- Mother’s day was celebrated with gaiety and fervor in the auditorium of Sri Guru Harkrishan Sr. Sec. Public School, G.T. Road. Bubbling kids of Pre-Primary & Primary section enthralled the audience by presenting a plethora of cultural items. The Chief Guest of the day was Dr. Tarundeep Kaur (IRS) Deputy Commissioner, Income Tax, Amritsar. She was accorded a warm welcome by President (CKDCS) S. Charanjit Singh Chadha. The programme specially organized for mothers commenced with school shabhad followed by welcome dance. The president CKDCS threw a light on the future plans of Chief Khalsa Diwan to uplift the educational status of society. The star attraction of the programme was choreography which filled the air with emotions and nostalgia. Cultural events showcased the talent of young children. The best mother was awarded with the ‘Mother of Day’.  The highlight of the programme was prize distribution  function rewarding hard work of the sterling stars  of Pre-Primary and Primary section. The Chief Guest was presented a momento by President, S. Charanjit Singh Chadha, Additional Secretary, S. Harminder Singh, Additional Secretary,  S. Sarabjit Singh, S. Manjit Singh Narula and S. Surinder Pal Singh Walia. The Chief Guest in her key note address urged the mothers to join hands against female foeticide and dowry system. The grand finale with the vibrant bhangra with made everyone enjoyed with mirth and robustness of Punjab. Principal / Director Dr. Dharam Veer Singh in his speech said that in the moral values are degenerating fast so it becomes very important for the mothers to revive the moral values and respect for elders among their children. The function was attended by Headmistress Mrs. Rajdawinder Kaur Gill, Mrs. Renu Ahuja, Mrs. Kanwalpreet Kaur, Mrs. Nischint Kahlon and Supervisors, Mrs. Kiranjot Kaur, Mrs. Manju Sapra and Mrs. Amritpal Kaur.
