Kathak Performance at DAV Public School

Amritsar, 16 May (Punjab Post Bureau)- With the aim to promote and spread awareness about the rich cultural tapestry of India among the youth, DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar today organized ‘Kathak Dance’ under the auspices of SPIC MACAY. Smt. Geetanjali Lal, and Smt. Vidha Lal,  highly acclaimed performers captivated the audience with their  Kathak performance.  Geetanjali Lal  has been trained by great stalwarts like Roshan Kumari, Gopi Krishana, Mohan Rao Kalayanpurker and her husband Devi Lal. She has received accolades for her brilliant solo exposition of Jaipur Gharana. She was accompanied by Smt. Vidha Lal, yet another celebrated artist in her field.  She is a disciple of renowned Guru Smt. Geetanjali Lal and has earned great acclaim for her excellent performance. Their performance mesmerized the audience and created an aura of divinity. The melody of  Vocalist Amjad Ali ji and Mustafa Hussain ji on Tabla  enthralled  the audience during the show. Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school thanked the guests for the scintillating performance and praised the efforts of  SPIC MACAY for the promotion of Indian Art and Culture in and around the world . She presented the guests with  a token of gratitude and appreciation.  She also said that it was very important to keep oneself enriched with our traditions as it only forms the basis of our progress.
