Amritsar, 16 May (Jasbir Singh Saggu)- International nurses day was celebrated by staff and students of Chief Khalsa Diwan International Nursing College on the eve of birth anniversary of The Lady with Lamp, Miss. Florence Nightingale (founder of modern nursing profession). Dr. Santokh Singh Chairman Chief Khalsa Diwan International Nursing College enlightened the lamp as chief guest along with S. Pritpal Singh Sethi and Dr. S.S. Walia. Principal, Dr. Darshan Sohi welcomed the guests. In his inaugural speech, Dr. Santokh Singh encouraged the students to abide the principles of nursing profession given by The Great Lady, Miss Florence Nightingale. S. Pritpal Singh Sethi threw light on the historical background of Chief Khalsa Diwan and its achievements. Nursing students Jastaj Kaur and Jasleen Kaur explained the theme of this day. New students marked their entry into the Nursing Profession by taking Nightingale Pledge under the guidance of Mrs. Harleen Kaur Vice Principal. Nursing students Rajbir Kaur and Kuldeep Kaur were holding the stage. Prize distribution was done at the end of program for quiz competition and other performances.
