
Beas, Sept. 3 (Punjab Post Bureau) – A trekking expedition ‘Garud Shikhar’ was flagged off from Beas Military Station today by Brigadier Sandeep Singh, Commander Double Victory Brigade. The team comprising of 10 members is led by Captain Alex Raj VS of Guards. The trekking is scheduled in the arduous terrain of Himachal with the team scaling various mountainous features, the highest being Bhaba Pass at a height of approximately 17000 feet. The expedition members will be self contained for the duration of the expedition and will traverse over a total distance of 144 Km of inhospitable terrain in 10 days. The expedition has been launched to develop team spirit, camaraderie and character buildings of the troops as well as to motivate the youth of far flung hilly areas to join the Army. Brigadier Sandeep Singh handed over the expedition flag to the team leader and wished team success.
