
Amritsar, September 5 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Department of Economics of BBK DAV College for Women organized a guest lecture on Globalization and its Impact on Indian Economy in college premises. Prof. (Dr.) Paramjit Nanda, Head, Punjab School of Economics, GNDU was the resource person.
While delivering the lecture, Dr. Nanda emphasized the need of globalization. She dwelled upon the drastic changes which took place after the adoption of liberalization, privatization & globalization (LPG) policy in India. The lecture was followed by an interactive session in which queries of the students were answered. Mrs. Poonam Kohli, Head, Department of Economics, said that Globalization could have been a boon for the economy, if India had made a pre-planned strategy for its implementation. Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia appreciated the efforts of the department for organizing an informative lecture. She added that such lectures followed by interactive sessions are necessary for imparting hands-on knowledge to students. Mrs. Neenu Malhotra, Head, Department of Commerce, along with other faculty members and students, attended the lecture.
