Amritsar, November 6 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The much awaited 66th World Sikh Educational Conference which began two days ago with a splendorous start concluded today successfully. The event began in the morning with “Asa Di Vaar” in Gurudwara Sahib Chief Khalsa Diwan. Mr. Sunit Singh Tuli (CEO Data Wind Company) presided over the conference while Mr. Paramjeet Singh Patwalia (Add. Solicitor General, Govt. of India) witnessed the function as the chief Guest and Dr. Vijay Satbir Singh Bathh appeared as the Guests of Honour. Charanjit Singh Chadha, President CKDCS extended a formal welcome to the all Guests . Jaswinder Singh Dhillon Hony. Secy. Educational Committee presented the annual report of the achievements of the educational committee. In his presidential address, a proposal was extended by Sunit Singh Tuli on the theme of “Teacher Empowerment” for the next World Sikh Educational Conference to be held in Canada in 2018. Because only empowered teachers can build empowered and prosperous nation. He advised the youth to respect their mothers and teacher Chief Guest Mr. Paramjeet Singh Patwalia lauded the stupendous contruibution made by the Chief Khalsa Diwan Charitable Society in the educational, religious & cultural fields. All the eminent scholars were honoured on the occasion which included Dr. Ravinder J. Singh, Mrs. Gursharan Khandra Canada, S. Kundan Singh Sajjan, Tajinder Pal Singh Sindra (U.K.), Mrs. Mehjinderpal Kaur (U.K.) Mrs. Tajinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Mrs. Harshinder Kaur (U.K.), Baba Kashmir Singh Bhuriwale, Dr. Kulwant Singh and Gurvinder Singh Pabla.
It was an inspiring day sure to have a ripple effect on the future plans and projects which included- Quality Education to prepare students for big achievements, To set up pollution free environment, Appeal to Jathedaar Akal Takhat to instruct sikh organizations for making intensive efforts to free Sikh youth from drugs and follow the Sikh norms, Increase the use of print, electronic, social media to showcase rich Punjabi culture, To appoint sikh representatives in censor board and other agencies to stop anti-sikh showcasing of characters, Appreciation of Canada Government to provide central government high rank posts to Sikhs, Gratitude to Government, administration, media and various organizations for the successful compelition of the conference. All the proposals were unanimously approved by Society members. Vote of thanks was extended by Inderpreet Singh Chadha, Vice President CKDCS. A special Ardas was performed by Bhai Rajdeep Singh for the successful conclusion of the conference. The eminent personalities present on the occasion were Dhanraj Singh Vice President CKD, Nirmal Singh Resident President CKDCS, Narinder Singh Khurana Hony.
