
Amritsar, Dec 26 (Punjab Post Bureau) – This is a proud matter for Punjab & especially for Amritsar that the latest youth icon- Abhishek Sharma, Captain of Under-19 Asia Cricket Cup winning team. Few days ago, India beat Sri Lanka to lift the coveted Under-19 Asia Cricket Cup. He belongs to Amritsar City & he has not been trained by any expensive Academy of a far away city rather, he has been trained at Amandeep Cricket Academy, Sultanwind Canal Road, Taran Wala Pull, Amritsar. This information was shared by Dr. Shahbaaz Singh, Director, Amandeep Cricket Academy while speaking to the media persons during special facilitation function organized by Amandeep Cricket Academy. He said, ACA (Amandeep Cricket Academy) is feeling proud as it has put its full hearted efforts in carving the gem, which has put Asia Cup in the lap of India & brightened the name of Country, State & Amritsar all over the world. Abhishek Sharma is captain of Under-19 Cricket Team of India & was also Man of the Match during Final match by bagging 4 wickets. ACA honored Abhishek by presenting a Memento & cheque worth Rs. 51,000/- to him. At this event, Dr. Avtar Singh, Chief Orthopeadic Surgeon, Amandeep Hospital, Dr. Amandeep Kaur, MD, his coach, Harwinder Singh, Munish Sharma, Lovely Arora & Kamal Chaudhary among others were also present. Speaking on this event, Abhishek said that it is dream of every cricketer to play for the national team but as he is born in Amritsar, where sports facilities, especially cricket coaching are not at par with the national level, he never thought that he can be a part of the national cricket team. This is all due to ACA & his coach, Harwinder Singh that his dream turned into reality & he not just only played for the country but also represented the country as a captain of the winning team. He praised ACA training facilities & gave credit of his success to ACA. His coach, Harwinder Singh said that he is feeling very proud on this moment as his trainee Abhishek has achieved a remarkable success & brightened his own name as well as his coach’s name all over the world.

On this moment, Amandeep Cricket Academy announced Amandeep Under-19 Cricket League in which 8 teams from all over the Punjab will be invited to participate. This was announced by Abhishek Sharma.
