Amritsar, January 21 (Punjab Post Bureau) – PG Department of Mathematics, DAV College Amritsar organized a lecture on “Intergrating Numerically in Hundreds of Dimensions” on 21st January 2017 at Seminar Hall in the college. Prof Ian H. Sloan, School of Mathematics and Statistics, University of New South Wales was the key Speaker during the event. Dr Panny Manchanda, Head Department of Mathematics, GNDU, Amritsar was the guest of Honor during the event. Students from Graduation and Post graduation classes of Mathematics department attended the lecture. Vice Principal Dr Vishwa Bandhu congratulated Prof R.k Jha, Head department of Mathematics and other staff members of the department for organizing such scholarly lectures for intellectual growth of students and for promotion of the subject. He also added that such lectures help in clearing concepts and getting deeper knowledge about the subject. While speaking on the occasion, Prof Ian H. Sloan talked about integration problems in N- dimensions Fourier Expansion Series, Simpsons’s Rule, Monte Carto Method and many related Theorems and Principles. Prof Madan Mohan, Prof Meenu Aggarwal, Prof Ashu Vij, Prof Vikram, Prof Sheetal, Prof Manisha, Prof Sonia, Prof Kashish, Prof Heena, Prof Sofia, Prof Mandeep and Prof Kapil attended the lecture.
