Performance Enhancement Workshops for Teachers held at DAV Public School

Amritsar, January 21 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Under the aegis of DAV Centre of Academic Excellence DAV CMC, New Delhi and Regional Director Punjab Zone A Performance Enhancement cum Orientation Programme for teachers teaching Std XI & XII was hosted at DAV Public School, Lawrence Road. The workshops were inaugurated by Regional Director Punjab Zone A , Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra , who is the guiding force behind this innovative approach . It was followed by floral welcome, lighting of the lamp and DAV Anthem. As many as 100 teachers from 5 schools of Punjab Zone A participated in the workshops according to their subject. The Workshop was held for 15 subjects , English , Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Political Science, Punjabi, Painting, Music, I.P., Physical Education , Economics, History, Accountancy and Business Studies. While addressing the teachers, Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra, motivated them to update themselves with the latest technology and trends in education. She added that workshops and seminars groom and develop skills of teaching and learning among teachers which in turn enhance the performance of the students. She also acknowledged the hard work put in  by the teachers and expressed her pleasure at the enthusiasm shown by them. Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school welcomed the guests and the participants . She encouraged them to interact and learn from each other on this common platform and grow better and brighter as educators. DAV Public School for Physics, Ms. Manju Mahajan from Police DAV Public School for Chemistry, Mr. Kamaljeet Singh from DRB DAV Cent. Public School for Biology, Mr. Adesh Nanda and Mr.Vikas Mehra from DAV International School  for Accountancy , Ms.Kanchan Sharma from Police DAV Public School for Business Studies, Mrs. Radha Mehra from DAV Public School for Economics , Mr. Sanjeev Sharma form GND DAV Public School for Physical Education , Mrs. Sunita from Police DAV Public School for Fine Arts, Mr. Kawalpreet Singh from DAV Public School for Music and Mr. Rajesh Kumar  from GND DAV Public School for I.P. were the resource persons for the day.  The skilfully planned workshops aimed at enhancing the teaching learning process. All the workshops were interactive and activity oriented. The main objective of the workshops was to make teaching interesting in the classroom so as to grab the attention of the students. The resource persons also discussed the strategies for the coming exams and shared the key points for the same.  It also aimed at encouraging the students to think out of the box and motivating them for practical work. Overall the workshops were a success as many  new methodologies were discussed.
