Amritsar, January 23 (Punjab Post Bureau)- The students of DAV Public School Lawrence Road remembered Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose with reverence on his birth anniversary today. He was one of the most well known Indian leaders during the independence movement and has become a great legendary figure in the history of India.
The students read out excerpts from his inspirational life. He was a leader of the Indian National Congress and became the Congress President from 1938 – 1939. In the year 1939, he was set under house arrest by the British. Then he went to the Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan for getting assistance for the independence of India by British rule. He became successful in organising an Indian National Army (Azad Hind Fauj) by the support of Japanese but he died in a Japanese plane Crash in Taiwan. The students also informed that he believed that Bhagvad Gita was a great source of inspiration for the struggle against the British. Swami Vivekananda’s teachings on universal brotherhood, his nationalist thoughts and his emphasis on social service and reform had all inspired him. In the end the students pledged to take inspiration from his ideals and work for the nation. Regional Director , Punjab Zone – A , Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school , Dr. Rajesh Kumar , Principal DAV College , Hathi Gate , Amritsar said in their message that Netaji was a brave soldier who devoted his entire life to his country for its freedom and liberty. So, we all must respect his sacrifices and join hands for universal peace and brotherhood. Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school motivated students to read more about the great hero and pay him rich tribute by imbibing his ideals.
