Amritsar, April 6 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The students of DAV Public School Lawrence Road paid a special tribute to a great Arya Samajist and freedom fighter Mahashay Rajpal ji.
He was born in a not so well to do family in the cultural city of Amritsar. At a very young age he came in contact with the Vedic Renaissance of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati . He was a devoted worker and a noted Literateur . He strongly believed in Freedom of Expression as a Fundamental Right.Truth was the hall mark of ‘Rangeela Rasoor’ the book written and published by Mahashay Rajpal ji . But the muslims mis – interpreted the message of the book as spreading anti – Islam message, so Mahashay ji was brutally killed by them . The students of the school remembered this great hero by narrating the incidents from his life, how he lived and died for his country and dharma. He was also chosen by the United Nation Organisation to be honoured posthumously. The students recited poems and sang patriotic songs to pay homage to this great soul. Regional Director Punjab Zone – A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra ji and Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar appreciated the efforts of the students for remembering such a great soul who sacrificed his life for the cause of his motherland. Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school also paid tribute to Mahashay Rajpal Ji and addressed the students that they must take inspiration from the lives of freedom fighters who fought selflessly for the sake of the country.
