Amritsar, April 12 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Students of BBK DAV College for Women celebrated the festival of Vaisakhi with great fervour. The students held the audience spellbound with a colourful performance of a folk song, Kikli and Giddha. Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia said that the festival of Vaisakhi is celebrated to mark the foundation of the Khalsa Panth as well as the ripening of the wheat crop. Dr. Walia also gave her best wishes to the staff and the students on this auspicious occasion. `Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairman, Local Managing Committee said that the festival is very significant both historically and culturally. Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Rani, the Giddha team of the college made the event memorable and festive with their performance of Giddha.
