Amritsar, June 23 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Guru Nanak Dev University is once again emerging as the most preferred destination in the state for campus placements. It has been another fruitful session this year also for University as its students, particularly from B.Tech. CSE, B.Tech. ECE, MCA and MBA have found placement in good number of reputed companies. Prestigious multinational IT companies like TCS, Capgemini, Nagarro, John Deere, Amdocs, Infogain, Software AG, Clair Volex, Code Brew, Chicmic and Socomo Technologies have selected more than 488 students from B.Tech. CSE, B.Tech. ECE, MCA and M.Tech. from main campus and all the regional campuses. Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, ICFAI, IOL Chemicals and many other companies also selected more than 56 MBA students.
In total, 619 students of batch 2017 from various courses of University have been selected by various national and multinational companies through Campus Placements. These students are joining their respective companies in July. The highest salary package offered was Rs. 6 Lacs and the average salary package offered was Rs. 3.68 Lacs.
The UGC conferred University with the status of “University with Potential for Excellence” in 2012 under which a grant of Rs. 100 crore was sanctioned. In recognition to this achievement, a Model Career Centre (MCC) has been established at Placement Department by UGC and Ministry of Labour and Employment under the National Career Service program. Under this program, a grant of Rs. 32 Lakhs has been sanctioned. University is one of the few universities in India, which has been granted MCC. Career guidance and career counseling is provided to the students through this centre.
Reputed ValuerHR E-Solutions Private Ltd., a multinational company has tied up with GNDU to establish ValeurHR’s Innovation Centre. The company has already established its R&D and Data Analytics Centre in GNDU with a core objective to impart skills in various technologies, where students will work on Live projects related to product development.
