
Amritsar, Nov. 19 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Khalsa College Governing Council. running 17 educational institutions will be organizing a huge religious procession onNovember 24 to mark the celebration of 547th birth anniversary of Sikhism’s founder Guru Nanak Dev, on November 25. The historic Khalsa College and other institutions would take out the mega procession from Khalsa College campus to Golden Temple involving students, teachers and staff who would reach the religious shrine chanting the Gurbani, said KCGC honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina today.
He said the procession, which had been named as Sikh parade would be carrying flower-decked palanquin (Palki Sahib) and `five beloveds’ (Panj Payaras) would be leading the march. The procession would be taken in the early morning to ensure smooth flow as with the day rising the traffic would be hampered. The district police and civil administration has been appealed to make traffic diversions accordingly so that the lesser inconvenience is caused to the commuters.
The route of the march will be GT Road, Putlighar, Railway station, Bhandari Bridge, Hall Bazar, Kotwali, Jallianwala Bagh to Godlen Temple complex where the prayers would be held to follow the path of the Guru which is truthful and simple living.
