
Amritsar, Feb 27 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Under the aegis of DAV Centre of Academic Excellence, New Delhi and tutelage of Dr. Neelam Kamra, a two day Orientation Programe for Teachers was organised at DAV International School from 26th- 27th February. The Orientation Cum Interactive Meet was held for four subjects i.e. English , Hindi, Punjabi and Social Science for Std III- V and IX and X with the aim to bring a qualitative improvement in the teaching learning process with the objective of enhancing learner achievement.
As many as 70 teachers from GND DAV Public School, Bhikhiwind, MKD DAV Public School, Attari, DAV International School, Police DAV School and DAV Public School participated in the workshop. Principal Anjana Gupta welcomed the resource persons with bouquets and said that she was happy to see eager teachers as a teacher must always grow and upgrade herself to deal with the changing trends in education. Dr. Neelam kamra said that the sole purpose of organising such programs is to hone and upgrade the teaching methodologies adopted by the teachers.
Ms. Simmi Ahuja, Ms. Sucharu Datta, Ms. Deepika (Hindi), Ms. Punam Mahajan, Ms. Anju Mohindru (Pbi), Ms. Shivani Bajwa, Ms. Navjeet Kaur (Social Science) from DAV Public School, Amritsar, Ms. Ramandeep Kaur(Pbi) from DAV School, Phillaur and Ms. Shalini Saini(Hindi) and Ms. Aradhana Singh(English) of host school, were the resource persons for During the workshop the detailed syllabus along with its length and content was discussed. The resource persons emphasized on the importance of adopting different techniques for motivating and helping students to comprehend their content and reproduce it in a creative and correct form in the exam to score well. The resource persons touched the difficult learning areas in their subject and shared their expert and innovative methodology adopted by them over the years to make the difficult areas interesting and easy to comprehend. The workshops for all the subjects were a success as many new ideas and innovative ways to enhance teaching and learning process were developed.
