Amritsar, Apr. 26 (Punjab Post Bureau) – A Folk Song Competition was organised at Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School, Majitha Road recently. The competition was organised by INTACH Amritsar Chapter on the occasion of ‘World Heritage Day’ which falls on 18th April to sensitize the masses to preserve and respect their heritage. Khyati Mehra of Std IX of DAV Public School, Lawrence Road was adjudged the best folk singer among participants from 11 schools of Amritsar. She won the first prize and was awarded a trophy for her performance. The folk song sang by her was appreciated by everyone including the judges from different colleges in Amritsar. The judges applauded her performance and remarked that Khyati had a professional touch in her singing which they had not seen even among students at the college level.
Regional Director , Punjab Zone – A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school , Dr. Rajesh Kumar , Principal DAV College Amritsar congratulated Khyati for her brilliant performance and blessed her for future endeavors. Dr. Neera Sharma , Principal of the school while appreciating her achievement said that she would like Khyati to shine and do wonders in the field of art and bring laurels to her school and family. She added that Khyati had already done a few films and is working hard to carve a niche for herself .
