Amritsar, July 6 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Dr. Balvinder Singh , Professor of Guru Ramdas school of Planning , Guru Nanak Dev University, has been appointed honorary adviser of Indian Heritage Cities Network (IHCN) Punjab . Earlier he was incorporated in the panel of national experts of IHCN. IHCN was established as a UNESCO New Delhi programme in 2006 . IHCN for the last couple of years has been making efforts to expand its activities in states like Karnataka, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Professor Balvinder Singh will have to keep constant coordination and interaction with State government, honourable Ministers, and concerned secretaries of different departments, commissioners and Directors on regular basis. IHCN will help and play a meaningful role in the heritage sector by supporting the state government. All the activities of the IHCN in Punjab will be driven by the clauses of an agreement with government of Punjab. His name is also approved by the honourable Governor of Himachal Pradesh in constituting Heritage advisory Committee Simla for the second consecutive time from 2016-19. He already served as non official expert member from 2012-15.
