Amritsar, July 27 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The students of DAV Public School, Lawrence Road observed Kargil Vijay Diwas by saluting the sacrifices of the valiant soldiers who fought for India till their last breath. It was on this day, 26th July in 1999 that India successfully took command of the high outposts which had been lost to Pakistani intruders. The students sang patriotic songs and read out inspirational poems saluting the spirit of heroism and nationalism . The Kargil war was fought for more than 60 days and resulted in the loss of life on both sides. The students expressed their concern over border issue and terrorism and pledged to spread brotherhood and harmony. Regional Director , Punjab Zone – A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Principal DAV College Amritsar in their message said that every Indian is proud all every soldier who laid his life in Kargil war. They added that by joining hands and working to build a just and peaceful nation will be our true tribute to them. Dr. Neera Sharma , Principal of the school while making the students aware of their great sacrifice, said that the country can never forget the courage and bravery of those soldiers . She added that their heroic sacrifice serves as an inspiration for us to rise above our petty issues and work for the betterment of the country.
