
Amritsar, September 28 (Punjab Post Bureau)- DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar paid homage to the great freedom fighter , Shaheed Bhagat Singh on his birth anniversary today. The students sang patriotic songs and recited poems saluting the indomitable spirit of the freedom fighter who laid his life for his country. The students presented a short role – play highlighting the ideology and patriotism of the martyr and depicted the heartrending scene of his death sentence. The morning assembly reverberated with the slogans of ‘Inquilab Zindabad’ inspiring the students to imbibe values of nationalism and patriotism for the sake of the country . Bhagat Singh was an Indian socialist considered to be an influential revolutionary of the Indian Independence Movement. His legacy prompted the youth in India to persist fighting for independence and he continues to be a youth idol in modern India and an inspiration to many. In the end the students took a pledge to serve the nation selflessly and join hands to free it from social evils.
Regional Director, Punjab – Zone – A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Principal, DAV College, Hathi Gate , Amritsar sent their best wishes to the students and asked them to rise above selfish motives and work together for the betterment of the society. Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school said that we must try to tread the path of courage and grit and endure all odds like a true fighter. She added that doing so would be our true homage to the legendary martyr.
