Army College of Nursing Convocation Ceremony organized

  Jalandhar, Apr. 11 (Punjab Post Bureau) – 6th Convocation Ceremony of Army College of Nursing, Jalandhar Cantt was held today at Ashoka Hall of the college. Lt Gen Dushyant Singh, General Officer Commanding, Vajra Corps and patron, of the college was the Chief Guest. The function was also attended by senior army and civil officers from various hospitals and principals of contemporary nursing colleges of Punjab.  Army College of Nursing was established in Aug 2005 at military hospital Jalandhar Cantt as a welfare institution for imparting quality nursing education to the female wards of serving and retired army personnel at an affordable cost. The college has already carved a niche for itself professionally as well as in extra co-curricular activities. At the outset, Brigadier Avinash Das, Commandant, military hospital Jalandhar Cantt and Director of college, extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest. Dr. (Mrs.) Baljit Kaur, principal, of college highlighted the achievements of the graduates in academic excellence and other co-curricular activities. The chief guest awarded degrees to the graduates of batches which passed out in 2015, 2016 and 2017 and also awarded prizes to the meritorious students.  Ms Manisha Bisht, Ms Sonia Sharma and Ms Jyoti Rani won the “Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Best Student Rolling Trophy” for the year 2015, 2016 and 2017 respectively. During his address to students, Lt. Gen Dushyant Singh highlighted the role of nursing as one of the noblest professions. He congratulated the graduates for their hard work and dedication in achieving their goals. He advised the graduates to keep pace with the ongoing changes and exhorted them to achieve excellence in the nursing field.
