Amritsar, March 31 (Punjab Post Bureau) – In a new initiative, Khalsa College of Pharmacy (KCP) has adopted total
online system of imparting education to its students in wake of the Coronavirus related lock down and curfew in Punjab. The students are getting their lectures, assignments and instructions through the new online apps daily, said Director-Principal Dr. R.K Dhawan. As per the guidelines from the management, they had earlier also initiated the E-Lecture system through the E-Governance. Now apart from this they are also adopting new apps including the Zoom, Whatsapp to reach out to the students in the hour of crisis, Dhawan said
“We do not want that the students’ studies suffer as this is the crucial time of the year when their academic sessions are ending and they will be appearing in the examinations in next months. Thus to compensate the loss of studies during lock down, the students are getting their study material from their teachers while sitting at home”, said Dr. Dhawan.
The Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) under which the KCP is functioning has already issued instructions to Principals of 19 Colleges and Schools to adopt the noval way of online learning. “All the students are linked through the online system of internet and they are being provided the necessary study materials including lectures, assignments and e-lessons through the E-Governance and other methods”, said KCGC honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina.
Earlier Dr. Dhawan said that their teachers are already well-versed with the new system of e-learning and had been preparing the E-lectures and uploading the same for students. The new emergency situation is also being used to further impart the education through latest techniques available, “Our College is working as per schedule from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm but Online”, he declared proudly.
