AAP protests against Congress government for dismissal of Minister Dharamsot
Amritsar, September 1 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Aam Aadmi Party today protested in front of district administrative complex and called for the dismissal of Cabinet Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, embroiled in the latest scam in the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme meant for numerous deserving students belonging to Dalit families during which the effigies of Chief Minister and Sadhu Singh Dharamsot were burnt and slogans raised against the prevailing corruption in the present government.
The protest was led by senior party leader and Deputy Leader of the Opposition Leader Sarabjit Kaur Manuke and MLA Prof. Baljinder Kaur. Local leaders includes Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, Ashok Talwar, Rajinder Plah, Jaspreet Singh, Dr. Inderpal Bera, Ravinder Hans, Advt. Teji, Dr. Ajay Gupta and others.
Harpal Singh Cheema accused the Chief Minister of going beyond all moral and administrative boundaries to save his minister Dharamsot who was directly involved in the embezzlement of Rs 63.91 crore in post matric scholarship scheme meant for providing financial assistance to the dalit students .
Commenting on the departmental probe into the scholarship scam to two officers by the Union government Harpal Singh Cheema said that the probe should be carried out by any agency but under the supervision of the sitting judges of the Hon’ble High Court in a time bound manner and the span of probe should be extended to 2012-13, as the embezzlement of more than Rs. 1200 crore in the post-matric scholarship scheme had surfaced during the tenure of the then Badal government.Jai Singh Rori said that Sadhu Singh Dharamsot is the murderer of future of millions of diligent Dalit students.
Harpal Singh Cheema said that the struggle of AAP would continue till the Congress sacks Dharamsot and a criminal case is filed against the entire ‘gang’ flourishing under the patronage of Sadhu Singh Dharamsot. In this context, a permanent dharna will be initiated in front of Dharamsot’s house in Nabha from September 2.
