Attack on Overseas Sikh places of Worship is a Matter of grave concern-Majithia

Majitha, April 17 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Describing the attack at Gurdwara Nanaksar Satsang Darbar in Germany as a detestable act, Revenue and Public Relations Minister Punjab, Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia strongly condemned it. He said that through Indian External Affairs Minister, Mrs. SushmaSwaraj, Akali Dal would demand an appropriate timely and action against the culprits. Mr. Majithia in an interaction with media after the review of ongoing development works and distribution of grant worth Rs. 1.25 crore for village Bhangwan, RakhBhangwan and Maddipur here today in Majitha constituency said that the attacks on overseas Sikh places of worship are a cause of grave concern. Wishing early recovery for those who were injured during the blast in Gurudwara while preparing for the Nagar Kirtan, he said that the attack has put the Sikh community into great distress and anxiety. He added that the event requires a thorough evaluation of the purpose and elements operational behind it. He said that he hopes that the German government would take the issue seriously and bring justice to the Sikh community. He made an appeal to the Sikh Diaspora to build due pressure on the German government to achieve justice. He said that SAD has always helped Sikhs living abroad to maintain their unique identity and whenever they are in crisis ShiromaniAkali Dal has stood by them and will continue to do so.

When asked about the statement of Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi regarding a big representation to youth in the State Assembly Elections .Mr. Majithia said that there is a great difference between what Congress says and does so no comments can be passed on such statements but SAD has already given large representation to youth and handed over greater responsibility to them and in next elections too they will be given due representation. He said that youth is the backbone of ShiromaniAkali Dal, they have always stood by the party and so the party will not hold back in giving greater responsibility to them. Earlier, the minister laid the foundation stone of the dozens of development works.
