Amritsar, Aug. 9 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The 74th anniversary of Quit India Movement was observed at DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar. This movement was launched by Mahatma Gandhi for freedom from British rule. He urged the people to conduct peaceful protests and demonstrations , and act as an independent nation. His mantra of ‘Do or Die’ was imprinted on the hearts of the Indians. The students of the school paid tributes to the Father of the Nation and other freedom fighters on this occasion . They recited poems and sang patriotic songs remembering their sacrifices, and also took a pledge to revive that ‘Do or Die’ determination in them. Regional Director Punjab Zone – A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and Dr. Rajesh Kumar , Manager of the school, appreciated the efforts of the students for observing such important days and advised the students to work selflessly in removing the evils from the country. Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of school said that freedom always comes with duties and responsibilities, and if we really have a desire to achieve something, we have to strive hard to fulfil it .
