Amritsar, October 4 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Dr. Gursharan Singh, former Dean of post graduate studies at Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana was today appointed the Dean (Agriculture), Khalsa University. A well known agriculture scientists he had been a Professor of Entomology at PAU where he served for more than 34 years and recently retired as Dean. He joined the office in presence of Khalsa University vice chancellor Dr.SS Chahal.
Dr. Singh has 2 books, 175 research articles, 22 abstracts and 23 manuals to his credit as an author. He is holder of prestigious Fulbright-Nehru International Education Administration Fellowship. Khalsa College Governing Council honourary secretary and pro-chancellor of the varsity Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina along with VC congratulated him on joining the duty and expected that his vast experience will help the university to march ahead on the path of research and dissemination of knowledge in the important subject of agriculture. Dr. Singh said he was happy to be associated with the historic society. He said his primary duty will be to set up the faculty and help give impetus to the research in various branches of Agriculture. He is widely travelled man and said that his priority will also be to initiate tie ups with various universities of the world.
