BBK DAV College for Women Celebrates National Voters Day

Amritsar, February 3 (Punjab Post Bureau) -BBK DAV College for Women celebrated National Voters Day as a part of SVEEP-Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation in the college campus. Mr. Basant Garg Deputy Commissioner and Ms. Sonali Giri, Municipal Commissioner were the Chief Guests on the occasion. The day was celebrated as an attempt to propel the turnout of voters on the day of election.

While welcoming the guests, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia emphasised the importance of casting vote in a democracy and motivated the voters to make the right choice. She further added that BBK DAV College for Women has been actively involved in creating awareness amongst voters by organising various events and competitions under SVEEP programme.Sudershan Kapoor Chairman, LMC, presented vote of thanks on the occasion. The students of B.Voc Theatre of BBK DAV College staged a skit on the importance of the right to vote and enthralled the audience with their performance. Ramanpreet got 1^st prize in Essay Writing Competition and Gurleen and Palak won 1^st & 2^nd prize respectively in Painting Competition
